Holiday Preview

Edinburgh Tattoo for starters, it takes place against the backdrop of the floodlit Edinburgh Castle - talk about dramatic! Almost 1,000 musicians, pipers, drummers, singers and dancers perform at the Edinburgh Tattoo on the Esplanade. Each year you can expect stirring performances of the Massed Pipes and Drums and the Massed Military Bands that emerge from the huge castle gates, playing the inspiring battle tunes of Scotland's famed regiments.


Day Excursion to Glasgow with half day guided tour, 1 hour cruise on Loch Katrine, Dewars Abefeldy Distillery Tour, Day Excursion to Edinburgh, Entry to Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Day 1
We head north to our overnight hotel in Preston.

Day 2
After breakfast we begin our journey to Stirling with comfort stops en route.

Day 3-6
- Today we take a cruise on the Sir Walter Steamship across Loch Katrine. Loch Katrine is one of Scotland's hidden gems; this cruise takes in the best this stunning site has to offer. From the atmospheric Ben Venue and Ellen's Isle to the historic sites of Queen Victoria's Royal Cottage and Factor's Isle. We then travel to Loch Lomond where you have some free time to spend in the department store or why not visit the Maid of The Loch Steamship.

- We take a scenic drive to Abefeldy where we visit the Dewars Abefeldy Distillery for a tour to see how they create the distinctive honeyed richness of their Abefeldy spirit. Access their atmospheric warehouse and learn how they double age their whisky for extra smoothness. Explore their interactive exhibition, and enjoy tasting Scotch whisky in their welcoming Whisky Lounge. We then drive along Loch Tay to Killin and the Falls of Dochart. We will return to the hotel via Callander.

- We visit Glasgow for the day. Explore a vibrant and welcoming city bursting with character, personality and great experiences. You'll find world-class attractions, stunning architecture, and an ever-evolving food and drink scene. We will be also be joined by a tour guide for half of the day.

- Free day to explore Stirling. A wee city with a big history, Stirling punches well above its weight for historic attractions and spectacular scenery, not to mention shopping, and places to eat. Why not visit Stirling Castle?

Day 7
After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to Edinburgh, where you can enjoy a full day exploring the City of Edinburgh, with its many places of interest. Remember to make your way to Edinburgh Castle in plenty of time for the 9.00pm performance of the Tattoo.

Please note: From the coach set down point there is a steep cobbled incline to the castle area, and also steps to climb to the seating area. (No evening meal included today).

Day 8
After breakfast, sadly it's time to leave and head home making sure we have plenty of comfort stops on our route.
