With a morning departure, we travel to Winchester for a 4 night stay at Norton Park Hotel.
Days 2 - 4
A morning free, to explore the historic streets of King Alfred's ancient capital of England, Winchester. Why not visit the Great Hall and King Arthur's Round Table, a fully restored working water mill and Winchester Cathedral, where Jane Austen is buried. After lunch we will make our way to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, based at Laverstoke Mill. The distillery showcases the care, skill and artistry behind every drop of Bombay Sapphire, and allows you to discover the flavours of the botanicals which make this gin so unique.
Today we head to Alresford, a lovely Georgian town, for a nostalgic trip on the Mid-Hants Railway, also known as the Watercress Line, through the lovely Hampshire countryside to Alton. This afternoon we will visit the Milestones Living History Museum. Step inside the story of Hampshire's social, retail and industrial heritage. A visit to Portsmouth, home to the Historic Dockyard. Whether it is shopping or visiting its many attractions there is something for everyone.
IMPORTANT: Bombay Sapphire Distillery is a working distillery, so they insist that guests wear suitable footwear, but not open-toed shoes or high heels. Part of the tour is outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather and time of year.
Sadly, we leave after breakfast and make our way back home.
