Experience the awe-inspiring city of Bath, the stately home of Longleat and the charming honey-coloured Cotswolds. There is no better way to enjoy a fabulous break.
With a morning departure we travel into the honey-coloured scenery of the Cotswolds. One of the delights of the Cotswolds is visiting the many towns and villages, each with its own identity, yet all with those defining Cotswold features: golden stone and rolling hills, the 'wolds'. The Cotswolds covers a huge area - almost 800 square miles - and runs through five counties (Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire). Then on to Blundsdon House Hotel for our 3 night stay.
After breakfast we will start the day with a visit to Longleat's famous Safari Park and then on to the House and Gardens where you will have plenty of time to explore at your leisure. Set within 900 acres of 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland and with its high Elizabethan architecture, priceless antiques and ornate paintings is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful stately homes in Britain.
A day at the wonderful city of Bath, a protected World Heritage Site, is full of architectural wonders including the Royal Crescent, the 18th Century Pulteney Bridge and the beautifully preserved Roman Baths. The shops range from well know high street and designer brands to special and unique independent stores that can only be found in Bath.
After breakfast we will head for home, calling in Lacock on the way. Lacock village is like stepping back in time, owned by the National Trust, it has been beautifully preserved and unchanged since it was a thriving township that traded in wool. It has been the venue for many film makers, including Pride and Prejudice and Harry Potter.
